The Family Tree
Written and directed by Luca Romani

'There was no dancing in grandmother's life, her hips were a tree trunk that cracked as they swayed, just like some high pines do when shaken by the wind. She planted herself in her house and lived there isolated with her granddaughter Margaret for the rest of her life.'

A family drama set in the 1900’s follows Margarets unraveling marriage. This story explores the complicated territory of trying to maintain loving relationships while being surrounded by the loss and trauma of poverty and war.

This was a preview performance staged at Longplay in North Fitzroy, March 2022.
